The Villa was designed by renowned artist Laki Senanayake who is an imaginative artist of genius in many fields and one of the focal figures of Sri Lankan creative art.
He belongs to the generation that emerged in the 1950s, a period as innovative and creative in Sri Lankan art, literature, music, theatre and film as any that has followed since.
Almost from boyhood he worked closely with the great artists of the time, the Australian artist Donald Friend, architects Geoffrey Bawa and Ulrik Plesner, Valentine Gunasekara, landscape designer Bevis Bawa, fabric designers Ena de Silva and Barbara Sansoni. Lakis art and sculpture can be found throughout the property.
Our selected menu is carefully crafted to offer locally sourced, daily specials with an emphasis on Sri Lankan food but also includes international favourites as well.
We believe in keeping it healthy and always include a fresh fruit platter at breakfast and fresh sea food purchased daily from the local fishermen as they pull in their nets in the early morning.
